Valley Green has been in Charlton for twelve years now, after relocating the facility from nearby Oxford, Massachusetts. With deep roots in the community, this location prides itself on service. Customers know they can always call or walk in with questions, and sometimes they even send photos for help diagnosing a problem.
The Charlton facility is 10,000 square feet, and they have four trucks available to make deliveries. The operations team in Charlton is led by Jon Targett. With a small crew, they have a fun atmosphere where everyone knows their role to make the team successful.
Trevor Shanks, Assistant Manager
Trevor has been at Valley Green for about seven months now. He was friends with Jon before joining the team and always found Jon’s job interesting when he would visit the warehouse. Having worked in emergency services as a police and fire dispatcher, Trevor found the move a welcome change from the pressures of his previous job.
Trevor enjoys helping customers solve their problems and understanding the process of achieving healthy turfgrass. As he’s learned about the industry over the past seven months, Trevor has found that asking good questions helps identify and solve problems for customers. He enjoys the environment of working in a warehouse with a small group of people.
Trevor has spent most of his life in New England and is thankful to have family and friends in the area. He enjoys spending time with his nieces and nephews. Trevor also likes to travel whenever he finds time, especially to visit national parks. His favorite so far is Zion National Park, with Yellowstone and Yosemite at the top of his list yet to visit. Trevor has also started doing more photography recently. He’s a fan of the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Dan Dubey, Truck Driver
Dan has been at Valley Green since March 2022. As he nears one year on the team, Dan says the people he works with are the best part of the job. Dan had been a truck driver for many years before a brief retirement when he found himself wanting to get back on the road again.
Valley Green was a good fit for Dan because it doesn’t require as much driving as his previous job. Even when he loads the truck for deliveries multiple times a day, he’s still spending less time on the road and doing more variety of work. Dan’s resume includes everything from glass cutting to general manager at a window and door manufacturer.
Dan grew up in nearby Spencer, Massachusetts. He lived in New York for a while before moving back home to Massachusetts. Dan has a son who also lives in Spencer and a daughter who lives in Pennsylvania with children of her own. Dan credits his stepdad with teaching him the work ethic that has always kept him busy over the years. When he does find time, Dan enjoys riding his motorcycle.
