Making Snow and Ice Control Easier with a Spreader and Sprayer

Why You Should use a Spreader for Granulated Ice Melt
There are many advantages to using a spreader with granular ice melt. One of the greatest advantages is that you don’t have to carry heavy bags of salt around. You can just pour the salt into the spreader, climb into the driver’s seat and you will be ready to go. Another advantage to using a spreader is that it will ensure that you are distributing the correct amount of salt. When spreading by hand, it is hard to determine whether you are using too much or too little. This will save you money because you will not have to purchase extra bags if you overused the salt. Steel Green Spreaders are also manufactured from stainless steel which is resistant to salt corrosion. That gives these spreaders a stronger lifetime and eliminates the need to clean after each use. Steel Green Spreaders can hold up to 7 bags of granular salt.

Why You Should use a Sprayer for Liquid Ice Melt
Liquid ice melt has become more popular for contractors who are in charge of pretreating surfaces for ice. The liquid keeps a bond from forming between the surface, snow, and ice. Spreading liquid ice melt can be complicated; you can’t just take a bucket and splash it around on the sidewalk. You also have to be careful that you don’t spray it on trees, shrubs, cars, or landscape beds. Using a sprayer allows you to spray the liquid ice melt in a fan spray which makes for an even distribution pattern. Steel Green offers optional attachment kits that offer Z Spray for liquid applications. Also, there are 60 gallons of liquid capacity in each one.
